Motion Design Intern

Daybreak is looking for a design intern to join our motion team. We are looking for an exceptionally talented individual to either join us at our Toronto HQ or remotely from anywhere in the world.

You will be collaborating with diverse brand, product, and web teams to create exciting new animations and videos for ambitious startups and industry leaders.

Commitment: Full-time, 3-4 months based on availability
Compensation: This is a paid position. Our ideal compensation range is between $3,000 and $4,000 and is determined based on the applicant's location.
There’s room for growth into a full-time position based on performance.

What you'll do

Work with a senior motion designer to craft storyboards, motion graphics, animations, illustrations, and more
Create original work from scratch or improve existing styles and assets
Proactively seek and apply constructive feedback to your work
Build your communication toolkit within a team where every designer steers their own ship
Generate engaging social media content that highlights the work across our larger team, our process and our vibe
Seizing opportunities to enhance skills, adeptly managing multiple tasks, and gracefully navigating shifts in focus

Who you are

Currently enrolled in the last year of a full-time design program or 1+ year experience in a motion design or animator role
Ability to clarify design decisions, adapt to new findings, iterate and improve solutions
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain your design choices
A keen eye for details and a deep interest in levelling up your craft
Experience with After Effects and Figma

Bonus to have:

Bonus: you have experience with one of the following: web design, motion design, creative coding, or 3D design
